Never
Points stay until they're used. Simple, and generous.
Early access · Shopify first
LoyalXP is loyalty points for Shopify stores. Customers earn on what they actually paid, spend points as store credit, and can see every point they ever earned, used or lost. Nothing on the ledger is ever erased.
How earning works
The points base is net realised revenue: the money you collected for the order, before payment-gateway fees. Discounts, gift cards and store credit never earn, so nobody earns points on points.
You decide whether tax, shipping and other charges (duties, COD fees, tips) count. Refunds reverse on the same basis.
What the customer actually paid
Money collected for the order, before payment-gateway fees. Store credit, gift cards and discounts are never included.
Worked example
Expiry your way
Points stay until they're used. Simple, and generous.
Everything lapses together: end of the financial year, the calendar year, or a date you pick.
Each order's points run on their own clock.
Any new order keeps the whole balance alive. Rewards regulars.
Every policy change has an effective-from date. Apply it to existing points or only to new ones, and preview who is affected before you save. A change never silently shortens anyone's expiry.
An honest ledger
Every point movement is a permanent row with a reason. Balances are worked out from those rows and can be rebuilt from them at any time.

The awkward cases, handled
A return takes back exactly the points that order earned, oldest lots first. If the customer already spent them, the balance goes into debt and the next earn pays it off. No negative surprises, no free points.
Share codes, a signup bonus and a repeat-purchase bonus, with caps per period so a code can't be farmed.
Checked out without an account? Claim the order's points later. Verified against the order, rate-limited, and each order credits only once.
On install, award points for your whole order history: a flat amount, your configured rates, or a one-time rate. You see a preview first. Moving from another loyalty app? Import balances from a CSV and customers keep what they had.
Built for Shopify, open to anywhere
Balance, full history with expiries, and a button to turn points into Shopify store credit.
Customers see what the order earned right after checkout, and can convert from there too.
Conversions land as real Shopify store credit. Set daily limits and a threshold above which you review first.
The core doesn't depend on Shopify. It runs behind an API, so the same program can reach any platform later. Built for INR stores first, in whole points and paise, with currency set per program.
Pricing
Stores that join early access get founding terms, locked in before public pricing exists. LoyalXP isn't on the Shopify App Store yet; early-access stores install it first.
Questions
The points that order earned are taken back, exactly, on the same basis they were earned. If the customer has already spent them, their balance goes into debt, and the next points they earn clear it first.
By default the base is net product revenue, because that is what the sale is worth to you. If you'd rather count tax, shipping or other charges, each one is a switch in settings.

Any time. The edit is recorded as its own entry with who made it and why. What you can't do is delete history, and neither can we.
Shopify comes first. The core runs behind an API, so other platforms can connect later. Tell us your platform in the form and we'll keep you posted.
